Meet the wound where the light comes in and the shadow pours out
The wound is what happens when who you are comes in contact with the expectations of society, family of origin, etc, and inevitably falls short. They will call what you are, your truth, monstrous. They will tell you to hide it, abandon it, control it. So, you will put on a mask to protect yourself. You will employ shame and guilt as spiritual leaders. You will be told that the enemy is your shadow. You will do the work, and it will leave you feeling incomplete.
I am here to tell you :
wholeness exists when you accept the fact that you are not a good person
Invite your monsters to the feast
What they won’t tell you is that the shadow is Sacred. Darkness is where everything we know and love is created. That if you invite the monsters to feast on the masks you had to create to be safe you will actually find wholeness. They will not tell you that being a good person is a farce and unattainable. As long as you chase that dream, they will be able to keep you.
